The short answer
A mobile cover shop near you usually stocks covers for twenty to forty fast-selling phones, so it often has nothing cut for your exact model. Check Settings, then About phone, match that model line to the cover title, and order one cut for it.
Type "mobile cover shop near me" into Google and you get a map with three shops on it. Walk into any of them and there is a fair chance they will not have a cover cut for your phone. The shops are fine. The problem is arithmetic.
What a counter can hold
A shop stocks whatever sells fastest on that street. Realistically that is twenty to forty models, times a few colours each. Shelf space is the whole constraint, and slow-moving stock is money sitting on a hook.
What is in people's pockets
India buys phones from a dozen brands, and most of them sell several versions of the same line. A T4, a T4x, a T4 Pro and a T4 Lite are four different bodies with four different camera islands.
So you get handed the nearest thing on the hook. It looks right in the packet. That is where the trouble starts.

Find your exact model in twenty seconds
On any Android phone, the settings app. Nothing else needed.
Usually right at the bottom of the list. On some skins it sits under System.
It will say something like "vivo T4x 5G". That exact string is what a cover has to match.
The name printed on the retail box often drops the suffix, which is how people end up with a cover for the wrong sibling. The Settings line never does.
Four rules that save a return
Treat it as a completely different phone. Body size and camera island both change between siblings, so the cutout will sit wrong even when the cover slides on.
Walk away. Series-fit usually means it was cut for none of them.
Put your phone in before you pay. Press every button through the cover, plug the charger in, and look down the camera opening for fabric touching a lens.
Check the product title names your exact model, suffix included, and check the return window before you order.
The magnet problem that is not a magnet problem
That third message comes up often enough to get its own section. A wallet cover has three card slots and a slip pocket behind them. Load all three slots with thick cards and the flap now has to close over several extra millimetres, so the magnetic strap no longer reaches its catch. It reads as a weak magnet. It is usually two cards too many. Keep two in the slots, put folded notes in the slip pocket, and the flap shuts flat again.

Will a cover made for the base model fit the Pro version?
Usually not. Brands change the body size and the camera island between siblings in the same line, so the camera opening and the button positions move. Buy the one cut for your exact variant.

Usually there are too many cards in the slots. Three thick cards plus a folded note push the flap out far enough that the magnetic strap cannot reach its catch. Take one or two out and it will shut flat.
